Steven Hoban and Vincenzo Natali, the Canadian producer-director duo behind “Splice,” have boarded Randall Cole’s thriller “388 Arletta Avenue.”
Repped by French sales company TF1 Intl., pic will be released by eOne in Canada and Optimum Releasing in the U.K. next year.
The suspenser, which turns on a young couple being manipulated and secretly videotaped by a stalker, stars Nick Stahl. Lensing will start this month in Toronto.
Another Canadian pic on TF1 Intl.’s slate, “Hobo With a Shotgun,” is a high-voltage actioner, helmed by first-time director Jason Eisener, whose “Treevenge” won best short at Sundance in 2008.
Pic has been snatched up by U.K.’s Momentum Pictures and Canada’s Alliance Films.
Based on one of the fake trailers Eisener created for “Grindhouse,” pic follows a homeless vigilante on a mission to clean up the city. Rutger Hauer (“Batman Begins”) and Gregory Smith (“The Patriot”) star.
“Hobo” is produced by Rhombus Media, Whizbang Films and Yer Dead Prods. and is set for a 2011 release.
