Branden D. Miller, VP of in-theater marketing for 20th Century Fox and Fox Searchlight, will be honored with the Al Shapiro Distinguished Service award at this year’s ShowEast confab Oct. 11-14 in Orlando, Fla.
Miller will receive the kudo, honoring his dedication to the motion picture biz, at the closing-night banquet held at the Orlando World Center Marriott. He joins last year’s honoree, Kelly O’Connor from Warner Bros., as well as past recipients, including Nancy Kleuter, Bud Stone and Steve Bunnell.
“I can’t think of a more deserving individual in our industry to receive this award than Branden,” ShowEast managing director Robert Sunshine said. “Branden’s exhibitor in-theater marketing expertise and leadership have contributed greatly to the box office success of some of the most notable films of all time.”
During his 18-year-tenure at Fox, Miller has worked on in-theater campaigns for such films as “Avatar,” “Ice Age,” “Independence Day” and the “Alvin and the Chipmunks” franchise. Miller’s Fox Searchlight roster includes “Juno,” “Little Miss Sunshine” and “Slumdog Millionaire.”
Miller overseas the creation and distribution of in-theater marketing materials for the U.S. and Canada.
Prior to joining Fox, Miller served for two years as the western division marketing coordinator at Buena Vista Pictures Distribution’s in-theater marketing department.
