Roadside Attractions has acquired U.S. rights to filmmaker Ondi Timoner’s documentary “Cool It” and plans a fall release.
Docu, which will world preem at the Toronto Film Festival, centers on economist-political scientist Bjorn Lomborg, who penned “The Skeptical Environmentalist” and challenged Al Gore’s “An Inconvenient Truth” with the publication of “Cool It” in 2007 — though former skeptic Lomborg now believes in global warming.
Maple Pictures will distribute in Canada. “Cool It” was produced by 1019 Entertainment, with 1019 principals Terry Botwick and Ralph Winter as exec producers. Producers are Terry Botwick, Sarah Gibson and Timoner, who won the Grand Jury prizes at Sundance for “Dig!” and “We Live in Public.”
