Paramount’s found a villain for its fourth “Mission: Impossible” — Swedish thesp Michael Nyqvist.

The new Tom Cruise film, directed by Brad Bird, is set to begin lensing this fall in Vancouver, Prague, Dubai and the U.S. Par’s already set a Dec. 16, 2011 release date.

Nyqvist played journalist Mikael Blomkvist opposite Noomi Rapace in Sweden’s “Millennium Trilogy” films — “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo,” “The Girl Who Played with Fire” and “The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest.” He also starred in the Swedish pics “Together” and “As It Is in Heaven.”

Jeremy Renner, Paula Patton and Vladimir Mashkov have been previously annouced as cast members for the fourth “Mission” with Simon Pegg and Ving Rhames returning. Details of the plot are under wraps.

J.J. Abrams is producing the film via his Par-based Bad Robot shingle. Cruise will also be a producer on the actioner. Skydance Prods., which has a slate financing deal with Par, is co-financing. Script is by Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec.

Insiders have disclosed that the fourth film in the series probably won’t be called “Mission: Impossible IV.”
