For the “Shrek Forever After” preem, Paramount went with a full-out, pre-screening fiesta Sunday morning on the Universal Amphitheater’s lawn, where roughly 1,200 sugar-infused kids ran around with an equal number of adults in pursuit. There was a breakfast of green cotton candy for the kids — at 10:30 a.m.! — and green cream cheese on bagels for their harried parents.
Adult supervision also came courtesy of DreamWorks Animation topper Jeffrey Katzenberg, who thanked Mike Myers for giving Shrek “his voice and his heart.”
Steven Spielberg saw the pic as “a tribute to every single fairy tale I was told growing up.”
And Par topper Brad Grey spoke of celebrating “that extraordinary, over-sized green monster.”
