Like their leading lady, Rapunzel, helmers Byron Howard and Nathan Greno finally got a chance to let their hair down Sunday after the bow of Disney’s 50th animated film, “Tangled,” at El Capitan.

“It’s been tight for two years and just now we’re able to let it loose and enjoy ourselves,” Greno said.

Howard, taking a break at the kid-friendly party at the Hollywood & Highland Grand Ballroom, admitted that animation can be tedious work. “But this is the best part. We’re locked away in a dark room for two years with 500 other folks working on this movie. Now we get to see how people react — hear them laugh in the right places, cry in the right places.” – — Terry Flores
