Dreyfuss to receive Career Achievement Award

Richard Dreyfuss will receive the Israel Film Festival’s Career Achievement Award, while producer Jon Landau will be honored with the Visionary Award.

Dreyfuss joined the Columbia School of Journalism to form a conference that brought Arabic, Palestinian and Israeli journos together and partnered with the Center for Strategic and Intl. Studies in Washington, D.C., to get CNN, the BBC and Al Jazeera in the same room for discussion. Thesp also was a co-founder of volunteer program L.A.Works.

Landau is being honored for his commitment to technological innovation with “Avatar” and “Titanic.” The two will be honored at the fest’s awards dinner Oct. 20 at the Beverly Hilton.
