The Hollywood Film Festival will honor Robert Stromberg with its production designer of the year award.
His work has been most recently featured in Tim Burton’s “Alice in Wonderland” and James Cameron’s “Avatar.”
The kudo will be presented at the festival’s Oct. 25 awards ceremony. The org said Stromberg’s selection followed a recommendation by the Art Directors Guild Council.
Stromberg and Rick Carter became co-production designers for “Avatar” and won an Oscar for art direction in addition to awards from the Art Directors Guild and BAFTA.
Previous recipients of the festival’s production designer honors are Carter, Robert Boyle, Henry Bumstead, Stuart Craig, William Creber, Dante Ferretti, Sarah Greenwood, Grant Major, Harold Michelson and John Myhre.
