Harrison Ford will receive the Santa Barbara Film Festival’s 2010 Kirk Douglas Award for Excellence in Film.
Since his role in 1973’s “American Graffiti” and breakout portrayal of Han Solo in “Star Wars,” Ford has remained a steady B.O. draw. He received a best actor Oscar nomination for 1985’s “Witness.” Ford’s upcoming releases include “Morning Glory,” in which he plays a disgruntled ayem show anchor opposite Diane Keaton, and Jon Favreau’s “Cowboys and Aliens.” The former goes out Nov. 12, the latter next year.
The black-tie fund-raiser dinner will be Nov. 19 at the Four Seasons Biltmore in Santa Barbara. The Santa Barbara Film Festival runs Jan. 27-Feb. 6.
“It’s always a pleasure to honor these young actors who do so well,” joked Douglas.
