Disney has set a launch date for Mars.

Studio’s live-action 3D film “Mars Needs Moms,” starring Seth Green and Joan Cusack, will be released Mar. 11, 2011. Pic tells the story of a young boy who gains a deeper appreciation for his mom after Martians kidnap her to the Red Planet.

“Mars,” directed by Simon Wells, is the Mouse House’s latest addition to the upcoming barrage of 3D titles. Disney’s most recent 3D success “Alice in Wonderland” launched last weekend with a worldwide haul of $216.6 million. Domestic earnings for the Tim Burton-directed pic reached $116.1 million.

“Mars” enters an already crowded 3D first-quarter slate, including Summit’s Nicolas Cage-starrer “Drive Angry” set for release February 11 and Warner Bros.’ “Sucker Punch,” directed by Zack Snyder, on March 25.
