Swiss entertainment group Ascot Elite has nabbed all German-language rights to high-profile Brit titles “Age of Heroes” and “This is England ’86.”
“Age of Heroes,” Adrian Vitoria’s true story of the formation of James Bond author Ian Fleming’s 30 Commando unit (a precursor to the SAS), stars Sean Bean and James D’Arcy and is the first pic in an intended trilogy.
Ascot also secured an option for future installments from Content Film.
Ascot added Shane Meadows’ upcoming TV sequel to his 2006 feature “This is England.”
Set in the 1980s when Margaret Thatcher was the U.K.’s Prime Minister, “This is England ’86” focuses on the young protagonists of the first film set against a backdrop of rising unemployment and the World Cup soccer tournament taking place in Mexico.
Ascot acquired the rights from producer Warp Films.
