Affleck, Damon in talks with Warner Bros.

Thesps talking first-look producing deal with studio

Ben Affleck and Matt Damon are in negotiations for a first-look producing deal at Warner Bros.

The studio and reps for Affleck and Damon had no comment but a formal announcement is expected within a few days.

The thesps — who haven’t yet named their new banner — previously partnered as producers at Disney-based LivePlanet along with Chris Moore and Sean Bailey, who’s now prexy of production for Walt Disney Studios. While at LivePlanet, Affleck, Damon and Moore produced the documentary series “Project Greenlight.”

Affleck and Damon first partnered as writers and actors 1997’s “Good Will Hunting,” winning the Oscar for original screenplay.

Both actors have worked at Warner Bros. recently, with Affleck directing and acting in the actioner “The Town” while Damon starred in “The Informant,” “Invictus” and “Hereafter.” Damon’s nominated in Oscar’s supporting actor category for “Invictus.”

Affleck also directed “Gone Baby Gone” and stars in John Wells’ “The Company Men,” which screened at Sundance. His recent acting credits include “State of Play,” “He’s Just Not That Into You” and “Extract.”
