Adam Scott joins ‘Brother’ cast

Film stars Rudd, Banks, Deschanel

Adam Scott has joined the cast of the indie comedy “My Idiot Brother.”

Paul Rudd heads up a cast that also includes Elizabeth Banks, Zooey Deschanel, Emily Mortimer and Rashida Jones.

Story centers on an idealist (Rudd) who crashes at the homes of his three sisters and brings truth, happiness and a sunny disposition into their lives while also wreaking havoc. Scott will play a neighbor of Banks’ character.

Jesse Peretz is directing from a script by Evgenia Peretz and David Schisgall. Anthony Bregman, Peter Saraf and Marc Turtletaub are producing.

Scott currently stars on a pair of TV series: Starz’ “Party Down” and NBC’s “Parks & Recreation.” His bigscreen credits include “Step Brothers,” “Vicious Kind” and the upcoming “Piranha 3D.”
