Academy invites 135 to join for membership

Academy_boffo The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has sent invitations to 135 performers and execs to join the org. Among those on the 2010 list are Relativity topper Ryan Kavanaugh, “Avatar” producer Jon Landau, thesps James Gandolfini, Adam Sandler, Carey Mulligan and “Toy Story 3” helmer Bob Pauley.

“The work of these individuals has been appreciated by moviegoers all around the world,” says Academy prexy Tom Sherak. 

Scribes Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman (“Star Trek,” “Mission Impossible III”) are also on the list.

Invitees who accept membership will be eligble to vote in the 2011 Oscars.
