Todd Vradenburg, executive director of the Will Rogers Motion Picture Pioneers Foundation, has been selected to receive the Salah M. Hassanein Humanitarian Award at the upcoming ShowEast convention.

He is scheduled to receive the kudo Oct. 14 at the Orlando World Center Marriott as part of the final-night banquet.

Vradenburg oversees both of the org’s primary programs — the Will Rogers Institute health charity and the Pioneers Assistance Fund, which provides financial assistance and counseling to motion picture industry veterans who need aid in times of emergency or distress.

Vradenburg joined the organization in 1997 and led the 2002 merger between the Will Rogers Memorial Fund and the Foundation of Motion Picture Pioneers.

He’s also been president of the Pasadena Junior Chamber of Commerce and served on the boards for the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Assn. and a local Salvation Army chapter.

Previous Hassanein recipients include Sonny Gourley, Clark Woods, Shari E. Redstone, John Lundin, Jeff Goldstein, Erik Lomis, Peter Brown, Travis Reid, Barrie Loeks, Tom Sherak, Daniel Crown, Allen Karp, Stanley Durwood, Carl Patrick, Lee Roy, Tandy Mitchell and Salah M. Hassanein.
