Moving Pictures Film and Television has acquired coming-of-age drama “Tanner Hall” and plans a theatrical release in late August or September.

MPF&TV, a wholly owned subsidiary of ICAP, noted that it made the deal prior to Cannes as it seeks out international opportunities for the film.

“Tanner Hall” is written and directed by Tatiana von Furstenberg (daughter of fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg) and Francesca Gregorini (daughter of Barbara Bach and stepdaughter of Ringo Starr). Cast includes Amy Sedaris, Chris Kattan, Rooney Mara, Brie Larson, Amy Ferguson and Georgia King.

Julie R. Snyder produced “Tanner Hall,” set at a girls’ boarding school in New England.
