Zach Galifianakis will receive the 2010 ShoWest Comedy Star of the Year award when theater owners gather in Las Vegas next week for their annual confab.

He’ll be feted at the final night banquet. ShoWest runs March 15-18.

“Zach Galifianakis has a knack for making audiences laugh till it hurts, through the comedic characters he plays,” ShoWest managing director Robert Sunshine said.

Galifianakis will be in theaters this fall with Warner Bros.’ “Due Date.” Film, set to open Nov. 5, reteams him with “The Hangover” director Todd Phillips.

Thesp recently wrapped production on DreamWorks and Paramount’s comedy “Dinner for Schmucks,” directed by Jay Roach.
