Ron Howard has committed to direct Vince Vaughn in an untitled Allan Loeb-scripted comedy. Universal Pictures will begin production this spring.
Imagine Entertainment’s Brian Grazer hatched the idea and will produce with Vaughn and his Wild West Picture Show banner.
Pic is an exploration of the comedic fallout surrounding infidelity between lovers and friends. Deals for Howard and Vaughn just closed.
Plan is to shoot in Chicago. Imagine’s Kim Roth will be executive producer.
Howard, who last directed “Angels and Demons,” will be working with Vaughn for the first time.
Loeb’s recent script credits include “21” and the Oliver Stone-directed “Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps.”
Grazer and Imagine teamed with Scott Free to produce “Robin Hood,” the Ridley Scott-directed drama which Universal releases May 14 with Russell Crowe and Cate Blanchett starring. Vaughn just teamed with Scott Stuber to produce the U comedy “Couples Retreat.”
