Shebnem Askin-Schreger has joined Fox Intl. Prods. as senior VP of sales and production finance, responsible for all international sales for FIP titles. Working out of L.A. and New York, Askin-Schreger will report directly to FIP prexy Sanford Panitch.
She’ll also be involved with FIP’s Indian production efforts at Fox Star Studios, working closely with Rohit Sharma, who joined the studio’s Indian arm last year as head of sales and content distribution.
Askin-Schreger has held a number of key positions in the international sales world.
Most recently, Askin-Schreger was head of Cinetic Intl., the global sales and consulting unit of John Sloss’ Gotham-based Cinectic Media. She managed international sales on titles including “Exit Through the Gift Shop” and “Abel,” directed by Diego Luna.
Prior to Cinetic, she was president of 2929 Intl., the worldwide sales and distribution arm of Todd Wagner and Mark Cuban’s 2929 Entertainment, working on films including “Good Night, and Good Luck.”
She also held top positions at Pandora/Gaylord Films and Trimark Pictures.
Born in Turkey, Askin-Schreger began her career in 1989 as a partner at Film Pop, an art-house distribution company based in Istanbul.
