Egyptian actor Yosra will head the jury at the second Doha Tribeca Film Festival, running Oct. 26-30 in Qatar.
She replaces Hany Abu-Assad, who had to cancel due to delays on his pic, “The Courier,” currently shooting in Louisiana.
Joining her will be thesp Salma Hayek Pinault, Brit actor/director Nick Moran, Indian director Bhavna Talwar and Bosnian helmer-scribe Danis Tanovic.
They will choose the best film and filmmaker in the Arab film competition.
Seven new features have beenadded, including Andrew Lau’s “Legend of the Fist: The Return of Chen Zhen,” John Curran’s “Stone” with Robert De Niro and Edward Norton, “Machete” and Vikramaditya Motwane’s “Udaan,” which will unspool in the World Panorama section.
The fest will host special screenings of helmer George Hickenlooper’s “Casino Jack,” starring Kevin Spacey; “Rakht Charitra,” directed by Ram Gopal Varma; and an Imax presentation of Tod Williams’ “Paranormal Activity 2.”
