MPTF sets fifth annual 'Fine' benefit

The Motion Picture & Television Fund has set its fifth annual “A Fine Romance” benefit for May 1 at the Fox lot, hosted by Hugh Jackman.

Celebrities performing tributes to musicals include Joel Grey, Patti LuPone, Shirley MacLaine, James Marsden, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Kristen Bell, John Barrowman, Christine Ebersole, Hector Elizondo, Leslie Uggams, Cheyenne Jackson, Melina Kanakaredes, Kelli O’Hara, Lea Salonga and Aaron Tveit.

Laurence Mark and Dan Jinks are producing with Adam Shankman directing. John Mauceri of the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra is music director, and Fox studio co-chief Jim Gianopulos and spouse Ann are hosting.

The fund, which has faced controversy over plans to close its care facilities, announced in Feb. that David Tillman was departing with Bob Beitcher as interim CEO.
