‘A Star Is Born’ to open TCM fest

Turner Classic Movies will be hitting the pavement for its Road to Hollywood tour. The tour, which will stop in five cities nationwide, is leading up to the launch of TCM’s inaugural Classic Film Festival, to be held April 22-25 in Hollywood.

TCM will travel to Boston (March 18), New York (March 23) Chicago (March 30) Washington D.C. (April 8) and San Francisco (April 21) before reaching their final destination in Hollywood.

Along the way, TCM will offer free screenings of classic movies with celebrity guests joining TCM host Robert Osborne for introductions.

Lineup for the tour is as follows:

Boston — The Brattle Theatre, “The Verdict” (1982)

New York City — The Ziegfeld Theatre, “All About Eve” (1950)

Chicago — The Music Box Theatre, “North by Northwest” (1959)

Washington D.C. — The Avalon Theatre, “The More the Merrier” (1943)

San Francisco — The Castro, “The Lady from Shanghai” (1948)
