Kate Hudson is in final talks to star in romancer “Something Borrowed” opposite Ginnifer Goodwin, John Krasinski and Colin Egglesfield, produced by Alcon-based 2S Films.

She’ll portray Darcy, best friend of Goodwin’s Manhattan attorney who becomes involved with Darcy’s fiance following her 30th birthday.

Shooting starts next month with Alcon co-toppers Andrew Kosove and Broderick Johnson producing with 2S principals Hilary Swank and Molly Smith.

Aaron Lubin and Pamela Schein Murphy of Wild Ocean Films will also produce. Ellen Schwartz will exec produce.

“Something Borrowed,” based on Emily Giffin’s debut novel, will be directed by Luke Greenfield (“The Girl Next Door”) from a script by Jennie Snyder Urman (“Lipstick Jungle”).

Alcon pics are distribbed through Warner Bros.

Its “Book of Eli” topped $93 million domestically and “The Blind Side” is past $254 million.

Hudson was last seen in “Nine” and has been shooting the Film Department’s romancer “Earthbound” opposite Gael Garcia Bernal.
