‘Toy Story 3’ still tops at box office

3D toon top another Friday with $18 mil

For the second week in a row, Disney/Pixars’s “Toy Story 3” tops the Friday box office, bringing in an estimated $18 million at 4,028 locations.

The 3D pic bested the comedic star power of Sony’s “Grown Ups,” starring Adam Sandler, Chris Rock, Kevin James, David Spade and Rob Schneider. “Grown Ups” collected about $14 million in 3,534 engagements.

The Tom Cruise-Cameron Diaz starrer “Knight and Day” grabbed the No. 3 spot, earning about $6.3 million for the Fox film from 3,098 runs.

Sony’s “Karate Kid” slides in at No. 4 this week, taking in an estimate of $4.8 million in 3,740 engagements and Fox’s “The A-Team,” takes fifth place with $1.9 million on 3,242 screens.

Universal’s “Get Him to the Greek,” takes the No. 6 spot with $985,000 in 2,189 runs, while Disney’s “Prince of Persia,” grabbed $901,000 at 1,851 locations.

Rounding out the bottom three are Paramount’s “Shrek Forever After,” which collected about $850,000 in 2,340 engagements, Lionsgate’s “Killers,” which earned about $659,000 in 2,271 runs and Warner Bros. “Jonah Hex,” which took in about $500,000 in 2,825 runs.
