When Jennifer Lawrence was on “Monk” in 2006, she and her parents recalled that the year before, they were holed up in a Florida motel preparing for an advertising shoot. They laughed.

The tradition of happy year-by-year comparison continues today, though it’ll be hard to top 2010.

Lawrence, 20, starred in the gloomy and mysterious “Winter’s Bone.” As the de facto matriarch of an Ozark household caught up in the town’s crystal meth underbelly, Lawrence brings a dexterity and maturity to the role. She’s unnervingly calm playing such an uncompromising badass.

Her perspective remains refreshingly in check. “I’m still like, ‘Oh my gosh, I get to do a movie!’ ” she says.
