Spotlight Award: Mila Kunis

Hollywood Award honoree

When Mila Kunis left “That ’70s Show,” which she had been with for eight seasons, she made a decision.

“I was 22, and I decided to make this my career rather than my hobby, which was how I had thought of acting,” says the thesp. “I was much pickier than I had a right to be, but I was lucky that I could sit back and work with someone I respected.”

That certainly includes her “Black Swan” company, where she’s a rival ballerina to Natalie Portman. Being cast by Darren Aronofsky was “one of the strangest” journeys to a role yet, beginning with a meeting on Skype, since she was in L.A. and he in New York, and continuing over several video chats.

“Then at one point Darren was, ‘Do you want to do this movie?’ And I said, ‘Did you just offer me the movie over iChat?’ Then I had to call my agents.”
