GLAAD honors ‘Men,’ ‘Precious’

Org announces feature, drama series noms

“Everybody’s Fine,” “I Love You Man,” “Precious,” “A Single Man” and “Taking Woodstock” have earned feature noms from the Gay Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation.

Those five pics were nommed in the GLAAD Media Awards’ wide-release category. Contending for limited release feature honors are “Casi Divas,” “The Country Teacher,” “Little Ashes,” “Phoebe in Wonderland” and “The Secrets.”

Among the TV categories, noms for drama series went to ABC’s “Brothers and Sisters” and “Grey’s Anatomy,” AMC’s “Mad Men,” BBC America’s “Skins” and HBO’s “True Blood.” In the laffer heat, GLAAD nommed Logo’s “Beautiful People,” Fox’s “Glee,” ABC Family’s “Greek,” ABC’s “Modern Family” and Showtime’s “United States of Tara.” Reality shows up for GLAAD kudos are CBS’ “The Amazing Race,” Bravo’s “Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List,” MTV’s “Making the Band” and “The Real World: Brooklyn” plus Logo’s “RuPaul’s Drag Race.”

GLAAD Media Awards ceremonies will be held March 13 in New York, April 17 in L.A. and June 5 in San Francisco. “Sex and the City” star Cynthia Nixon will receive the org’s Vito Russo Award.
