Panasonic has been one of the biggest (and loudest)
supporters of the 3D TV market. Now it’s ratcheting things up a bit more.
The company has introduced another pair of 3D sets – the first
by Panny to offer 2D to 3D conversion, which substantially increases the library
of content. (It also brings the company in parallel with Sony and Samsung,
which offer the technology.)
The two entries in the GT25 line measure 50 and 42 inches
and are priced at just under $2,100 and $1,700 respectively. They’ll be on
store shelves by the end of the month. Like other Panasonic 3D sets, you’ll
need the active shutter glasses to see the effects.
The 42-inch model is the smallest offered by the company. If
that seems puny to you, Panasonic also offers 85-inch, 103-inch and 152-inch sets. You
probably don’t want to know the price of those last models.
