‘Daybreakers’ trailer swoops to No. 1

Vampire pic views grow 113% in release week

Lionsgate’s “Daybreakers” took the crown for the first time with a robust 113% increase for a total of over 1 million views in its release week.

Sony’s “Legion” claimed second place with 56% growth for over 517,000 views with two weeks until release. Its six weeks on the chart marks the most of any film trailer.

Fox 2000’s “Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief” moved up three spots to steal third place. Fantasy pic nearly doubled its view count with a 94% increase for a total of 444,582 views with five weeks until release.

Denzel Washington starrer “Book of Eli” leaped from No. 7 to No. 4 with a 69% increase for a total of over 337,000 views. Warner Bros. pic is one week away from release.

Universal’s “The Wolfman” howled into fifth place from No. 9, the largest jump of any film on the chart. Horror pic grew 82% for over 325,000 views with five weeks until release.

Returning films include “Dear John” at No. 6 and “Youth in Revolt” at No. 7.

Three new films round out the chart: “Cop Out,” “Shutter Island” and “Leap Year.”
