The creators of “Star Wars: The Force Unleashed” have formed new game development studio Fearless Studios a month after LucasArts began reducing its head count.
Game scribe and helmer Haden Blackman, creator and senior exec producer of “The Force Unleashed,” and Cedrick Collomb, former director of engineering at LucasArts, will serve as co-presidents of the new venture, based in Marin, Calif.
Blackman, whose credits also include writing for the “Batwoman” comicbook series, will also serve as chief creative officer, while Collomb is chief technology officer.
Fearless will focus on creating games with strong storylines, that “affect players just as deeply as our favorite films and novels,” Blackman said.
Seahorn Capital Group, which invests in game companies, serves as Fearless’ financial adviser and business development partner.
Company founder Marc Jackson, who has served as an adviser for Warner Bros. Interactive, THQ and Eidos Interactive, and had a hand in getting “Batman: Arkham Asylum” funded for Rocksteady, will serve as Fearless’ chief financial officer.
