Obama’s Next L.A. Stop: The Home of John Wells

President Obama will next visit Los Angeles on Aug. 16, and on his schedule is a fund-raiser at the home of “ER” and “The West Wing” executive producer John Wells and his wife Marilyn, sources say.

Obama will be raising money for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, with invites expected to go out soon. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Rep. Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.), chairman of the DCCC, also are expected to attend. The event will start with a cocktail reception and will be followed by a co-host dinner.

Obama’s last visit to L.A. was in April, when he raised money for Barbara Boxer’s campaign and the Democratic National Committee at a fund raiser at the California Science Center and a dinner at the Natural History Museum.

Wells, who could not immediately be reached for comment, is president of the Writers Guild of America, West. He’s been a donor to the DCCC and was an early contributor to Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign.

The event costs $2,500 per person, with co-hosts at $30,400.
