HIT Entertainment, whose properties include Barney and Thomas and Friends, is partnering with animation house Nelvana Studio to produce 52 12-minute episodes of preschool series “Mike the Knight.”
It’s the first time the children’s programming shingles have worked together.
The series is set in the medieval land of Glendragon and takes its viewers through a CG-enhanced world of dragons and trolls. The creator is Alexander Bar (“Lunar Jim”) and the series is being written by Marc Seal (“Bob the Builder”).
“Mike the Knight” will be ready to air in the fall of 2011. Series is currently being shopped. The series does have one commitment so far, from the preschool network Treehouse in Canada.
