The Canadian National Exhibition, kind of like a county fair but on a national scale, features many attractions: food, rides, shows, concerts, a water park, livestock … and celebrity shoes.
The shoes, part of an interactive exhibit called “The History of Rock and Roll,” are from the private collection of Canadian podiatrist (natch) Dr. Hartley Miltchin.
Miltchin’s collection includes some 350 pairs of celeb shoes. Among the shoes in the show are the boots Chubby Checker wore on “American Bandstand” when he introduced the “The Twist” to teenyboppers, and footwear from Elvis Presley, John Lennon, Jimi Hendrix, the Jackson 5, Eminem, Shania Twain and more.
“I was thrilled to loan my shoes so that visitors of all ages can see their favorite star’s shoes and boots,” said the doctor in a statement. The CNE runs through Sept. 6 in Toronto.
