Singapore, Fremantle launch fund

Move will boost animation production in state

5BANGKOK — Singapore’s Media Development Authority has launched a new animation fund, the International Animation Fund at Mip TV in partnership with FremantleMedia Enterprises, to help boost co-productions in the city state.

The fund, part of Singapore’s efforts to encourage co-productions, invites applications from all over the world for new animation content in any format — including skeins, telemovies and theatrical features — and it will see MDA co-investing up to $3.5 million for each qualifying project.

FremantleMedia Enterprises will represent the chosen projects as worldwide distributor. Proposed projects must have a Singapore partner.
