France-based companies Basic Lead and the Media Faculty are putting together the Remakes Market, an informal confab for international intellectual rights holders to sell their properties for adaptations.

Inaugural event will be held Nov. 29-Dec. 1 at the Andaz Hotel in West Hollywood. Confab aims to run biannually in Los Angeles, with the first edition focusing on French properties.

Rights holders can purchase placement in the market’s catalog via their website and buyers can apply to receive the catalog, which will become available Nov. 12.

Confab also will honor the late Alain Berheim, an agent who came to Hollywood from France to rep authors like Jean-Paul Sartre and Francoise Sagan.
