MOSCOW — International film producers with projects that need partners are being invited to submit applications to the second Moscow Co-production Forum.
The forum, part of the Moscow Film Festival’s Business Square initiative, will take place in June.
Producers, international sales agents, film funding board representatives and commissioning executives from television channels from more than 10 countries will take part in the forum where selected projects will have the chance to find co-production partners.
Organized by film producer Anna Katchko, Olga Kolegaeva and Konstantin Nafikov of Moscow’s film promo org RFilms in association with the ministry of culture, the forum reflects a growing move towardP co-productions in the independent film sector.
The key focus will be on projects from the powerful emerging economies of Brazil, Russia, India and China.
“There is definitely much more interest in co-production here,” Katchko added. “Russia has a whole generation of very talented directors whose future films could be produced internationally.”
Partners in film and fest offices in Brazil, Russia, India and China are assisting with the selection of projects, she added. The deadline for applications, being handled by RFilms, is April 15.
