This year’s Laurence Olivier awards are once again not being televised — a matter of some controversy among Brit legiters since the kudocast was nixed after 2003 — but they will be broadcast by the BBC on Radio 2, one of its national radio stations.

The move, announced by the Society of London Theaters (SOLT), follows pressure from SOLT prexy Nica Burns who, in these pages, labeled the decision by Blighty broadcasters to ignore the event “a disgrace.”

Set for March 21, the Oliviers, the U.K. equivalent of the Tonys, also are being streamed live via the SOLT website.
