MCCS launches Indian channels in U.S.

Star Ananda, Star Majha news channels to air

LONDON — Media Content & Communications Services India announced Tuesday the launch of its Bengali-language Star Ananda and Marathi-language Star Majha news channels in the U.S. and Canada.

The channels will be available on the Dish Network.

MCCS CEO Ashok Venkatramani said: “The U.S. has a sizeable Bengali and Marathi population who want to be in regular touch with their roots. Star Ananda and Star Majha will definitely be able to fill this gap.”

MCCS is a 74:26 joint venture between Indian media group ABP TV and Rupert Murdoch’s Star News Broadcasting.

Several news channels including Headlines Today, Sahara Samay and GPunjab Newstime in various Indian languages are already available in North America.
