LONDON — Malin Akerman has signed onto CIA thriller “The Numbers Station,” and will star alongside previously announced thesp Ethan Hawke.

Pic, helmed by Kasper Barfoed (“The Candidate”), is produced by “The Cooler’s” Sean and Bryan Furst through their shingle Furst Films.

ContentFilm Intl. has acquired worldwide rights to the pic, which is penned by F. Scott Frazier.

Hawke will also produce the thriller via his Under the Influence Prods. banner, with Ryan Hawke and H2F Entertainment’s Chris Cowles and Chris Fenton on board as exec producers.

The $10 million pic sees Hawke play a disgraced black ops agent tasked with a dead-end job of protecting a young woman in the middle of the Nevada desert. When the two come under attack, they have to fight to stay alive.

Pic is skedded to lense early 2011.

Akerman, whose credits include “Couples Retreat” and “The Heartbreak Kid,” is currently co-starring with Katie Holmes in “The Romantics,” which unspools domestically this week. She also stars in “The Bang Bang Club,” which preems at this year’s Toronto Film Festival.

Hawke is currently in production on Pawel Pawlikowski’s “The Woman in the Fifth,” also starring Kristin Scott Thomas.

ContentFilm is selling “Numbers” at TIFF alongside “The Dog Squad: 3D,” “Cool It” and “I Am Slave.”
