Jalfon joins Shine

Exec is commercial manager at BBC Films

LONDON — Shine Group has tapped Paula Jalfon as senior vice prexy of production for Shine Pictures and Kudos Pictures.

Jalfon, who is commercial manager at BBC Films, the pubcaster’s filmmaking arm, will start at Shine on Jan. 11.

She will oversee the financing and production of the group’s film operations, and will produce and exec produce films for Shine Group’s film arm Kudos Pictures and Shine Pictures, which is a joint venture with Hollywood producer-financier New Regency. She will work alongside toppers Paul Webster and Stephen Garrett.

At the BBC, Jalfon has been responsible for packaging films, sourcing third-party funding, and managing talent relationships. She recently exec produced “Streetdance 3D” and “In the Loop.”

Previously, she worked as head of development and production at Ingenious Media Investments from 2002 to 2007, and supervised investments in pics such as “Shaun of the Dead” and “Vera Drake.”

Jalfon also spent time as head of production at the British Film Institute’s BFI TV and ran her own docu shingle Minerva Pictures.
