Endemol is opening another production hub in Argentina following fresh commissions for its formats.
“Our international hubs allow Endemol to deliver production value on a colossal scale to broadcasters in any territory in a way that would otherwise not be possible,” said Paul Romer, Endemol Group’s chief creative officer.
Endemol came up with the cost-efficient idea of making localized shows from one Argentinean set for “Wipeout,” which airs in 23 countries.
Telefe in Argentina, Brazil’s TV Globo, Canal 13 in Chile, Star V in Turkey and SIC in Portugal have ordered gameshow “XXS,” launched at last fall’s Mipcom sales mart in Cannes.
In the show, three families vie for cash prizes to see who can finish their housework first in a house where everything is 100 times bigger than they are.
Localized versions of the show all will be made at the set in Argentina, where a similar production hub is being used for “101 Ways to Leave a Gameshow,” recently sold to the BBC.
