Brabant to top Telefilm Canada

Exec has spent 20 years at the TV and film funding agency

Longtime Telefilm Canada staffer Carolle Brabant has been appointed executive director of the country’s film and TV funding agency, it was announced Tuesday by federal Heritage Minister James Moore.

She replaces Wayne Clarkson, who left Jan. 15 after a five-year stint.

Brabant has spent 20 years working in various capacities at Montreal-based Telefilm Canada, most recently as director of administration and corporate services. The selection committee looked at nearly 70 candidates and finally submitted two to Moore for consideration.

Brabant has been appointed for a three-year term.
