Lorber Films has picked up U.S. rights to “Tuesday, After Christmas,” the Romanian pic that will soon screen at the New York Film Festival. Helmed by Radu Muntean, “Tuesday” world preemed in Cannes earlier this year.
Story follows a man who must choose between his wife and his mistress. Mimi Branescu, Mirela Oprisor and Maria Popistasu star.
Distribution deal was negotiated by Kino Lorber’s Richard Lorber and Films Boutique’s Jean-Christophe Simon.
Lorber aims to kick off the film’s U.S. theatrical release at Gotham’s Film Forum in May, with engagements in select cities to follow.
“Tuesday” joins a Lorber lineup that also includes “Le Quattro Volte,” another film with a slot in NYFF.
