Lionsgate U.K. picks up ‘Method,’ ‘Coriolanus’

Film unit nabs Cronenberg pic, Fiennes' helming debut

Lionsgate U.K. has picked up rights to David Cronenberg’s “A Dangerous Method” and Ralph Fiennes’ directorial debut “Coriolanus.”

Distrib will release both pics in the territory in 2011.

A Dangerous Method,” which reunites Cronenberg with Viggo Mortensen and also stars Keira Knightley and Michael Fassbender, is slated for a May production start in Germany. Jeremy Thomas produces.

Coriolanus” stars Fiennes alongside Gerard Butler, Vanessa Redgrave and Brian Cox is currently in production in Belgrade, Serbia. Fiennes produces with Gabrielle Tana, Julia Taylor-Stanley, Colin Vaines and “Gladiator” scribe John Logan pens the script.
