Colombia is hosting the inaugural Bogota Audiovisual Market from July 7-9 to drum up more international biz for the local industry.
Some 80 buyers and producers have been invited to the event. Paramount Pictures, 20th Century Fox, Maya Entertainment and Yari Film Group are among the U.S. contingent. International players include Spain’s pubcaster RTVE, Brazil’s Conspiracao Filmes and O2 Filmes, Mexico’s Canana Films, plus France’s Wild Bunch and Funny Balloons.
Organized by non-profit org Proimagenes and the Bogota Chamber of Commerce, BAM will present 32 Colombian projects in development and an equal number of completed projects in various formats: features, shorts, docus and toons.
Domestic production services and post-production companies will also present their services.
“We want to firmly put Colombia on the map,” said Proimagenes’ Andres Bayona.
Film commissioner Silvia Echeverri will take a selection of guests to Cartagena to show its location potential.
