DQE, Method fly with ‘Peter Pan’

3D series updates J.M. Barrie's classic children's tale

Indian animation house DQ Entertainment announced Tuesday that it will co-produce stereoscopic 3D TV toon series “The New Adventures of Peter Pan” through its subsid DQE Ireland and French company Method Animation.

The series updates J.M. Barrie’s classic children’s tale for a new generation of kids, where the characters and the London skyline will reflect the 21st century.

The 26 half-hours will cost €9.91 million ($13.4 million) to produce. The series is part of a development deal that Method and Story Board Animation, France has with pubcaster France Televisions.

DQE has an existing relationship with Method, co-producing several animated series including “Charlie Chaplin,” “Iron Man” and “The Little Prince” amongst others. In the past France Televisions has commissioned international animated franchises like “Tintin,” “Garfield” and “Lucky Luke.”
