At the DGA theater Monday, the season-three premiere of “Mad Men” started off with a bang, although midway through the screening it turned into more of a snap, crackle and pop when the sound in the theater fizzled for a few minutes.
Luckily, audio was quickly restored, so the audience, which included the show’s Jon Hamm, Elisabeth Moss, John Slattery, January Jones and Vincent Kartheiser, could continue watching the season’s first episode.
Prior to the screening, creator Matt Weiner proudly spoke about the show’s success, saying, “I’m a delusional person. I wanted to do something, and it happened.”
He cautioned the aud to keep any season three critiques to themselves.
“If you have a problem with it, I don’t want to hear about it, I can’t take it, I’m not interested,” he declared.
The new season premieres Sunday, Aug. 16, on AMC.
