Bayonne Entertainment’s Rob Lee has sealed a production deal with “American Idol” producer FremantleMedia North America.
Under terms of the deal, FremantleMedia North America (which produces “Idol” with 19 Entertainment) will get first crack at all TV development that comes out of Lee’s Bayonne shingle.
“Rob’s extensive background and experience in all things entertainment is only rivaled by his strong industry relationships, all of which speak volumes to his prowess as a successful and respected producer,” said FremantleMedia North America CEO Cecile Frot-Coutaz.
Lee most recently served as head of programming at IMG Global Media but exited that company soon after the departure of Chris Albrecht (who had hired the exec).
The onetime agent’s credits include exec producing MTV’s “Randy Jackson Presents: America’s Best Dance Crew” and Bravo’s “Millionaire Matchmaker.” He also just wrapped production on Hallmark Channel telepic “The Night Before the Night Before Christmas” and has partnered with Albrecht on several projects, including a fashion-centered drama for Starz.
Besides his lengthy career as a producer, Lee also worked in TV packaging at agencies such as William Morris and Triad Artists.
“The opportunity to join forces with this powerhouse is a perfect fit,” Lee said.
