Regal Entertainment has announced Amy Miles will succeed founder Mike Campbell as CEO. Campbell will remain chairman and Greg Dunn remains as president and chief operating officer.

Move is effective June 30.

Campbell founded Regal, which is the largest circuit in the U.S.

Regal operates 6,782 screens in 550 locations in 39 states and the District of Columbia. Circuit is made up of Regal Cinemas, United Artist Theaters and Edwards.

It has a presence in the top 33 markets, and 44 of the markets on the top-50 list.

Miles presently serves as chief financial officer, a post that will be filled by senior VP of finance and chief accounting officer David Ownby.

“Today’s announcement is the result of several years of succession planning, and I look forward to focusing more time on the strategic opportunities for Regal,” Campbell said.

Miles has been CFO and exec VP since 2002. Previously, she was senior VP of finance. Before joining Regal in 1999, she was a senior manager with Deloitte & Touche.

Ownby has served as senior VP of finance since 2002.
