NBC Universal has merged all of its content distribution under one roof, expanding the duties of exec Jean-Briac Perrette.
Perrette will now serve as president of digital and affiliate distribution and content distribution strategy. In his new gig, he’ll continue to report to Universal TV Group prexy-chief operating officer Jeff Gaspin, who announced the move Monday.
Perrette will now work closely with NBC Network/Media Works prexy John Eck in handling NBC’s broadcast distribution relationships. He’ll also continue to oversee North American distribution of content across Internet, wireless and other digital platforms.
Affiliate relations, led by Jean Dietze, and affiliate marketing, led by Scot Chastain, will now report to Perrette. (Chastain will continue to have a dotted line report to NBC Agency prexy John Miller.)
Perrette was previously president of NBC Universal Digital Distribution, a job he had held since December 2006.
“JB has been at the forefront of the digital revolution, which makes him perfectly suited to lead these strategic efforts,” Gaspin said.
Perrette also serves on the boards of Hulu, MSNBC.com, A&E Networks and Peacock Equity Fund.
